The story began in Mulhouse in 1970, and today Sofitex is an international network of temporary employment and recruitment agencies operating in France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany. With more than 35 years of experience in human resources, the Group supports companies and candidates every day with tailored solutions in temporary work and fixed-term / permanent contracts.
1972 – 1976
The Origins : A Founding Vision
In the early 1970s, Maurice Picoux discovered temporary work and immediately recognized its tremendous human potential. He laid the foundations of a vision that would shape Sofitex’s identity: employment as a relationship built on trust.
1976 – 1998
The Growth of a Local Network
For more than twenty years, a strong network of agencies developed across Eastern France. Sofitex became a key local player, working closely with both companies and talent.
1998 – 2002
Cross-Border Expansion
International expansion began with the opening in Luxembourg, followed by Germany and Switzerland. In 2002, the creation of Sofitex Group S.A. officially marked the birth of an international group.
2003 – 2010
The Era of Specialisation
With the launch of Sofitex Experts and later Process Technology, the Group developed advanced expertise to meet the technical, scientific and industrial needs of a rapidly evolving market.
2010 – 2017
A Stronger Presence at the Heart of Local Regions
The opening of new agencies, including Sofitex Experts Strasbourg, and the creation of Sofitex Talent strengthened the connection between the Group, local businesses and highly qualified professionals.
2016 – 2021
Consolidation in Switzerland
Through Axellia and PaxsaJob, Sofitex built a strong presence in Western Switzerland and the Jura region, based on proximity and an in-depth understanding of the Swiss market.
2022
Expansion into Belgium
The opening of an agency in Libramont marked a new milestone in the Group’s international development, bringing its expertise and values to the Belgian market.
